My Thoughts On Medicine
My approach is to listen intently to you and what will best serve your healing, with the understanding that we’re all unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. My life experience and training with Chinese Medicine allows me to customize your treatment strategies to inspire the healing intelligence in YOUR body.
With specialization in pain management, digestive health and autoimmune conditions, I also consider environmental effects on the body, especially in chronic pain. By leveraging neurological signals from the brain and its effects on pain, this impacts the entire body leading to either a state of health or a state of dysfunction. This goes both ways as pain impacts our mental state.
My Journey into Traditional Chinese Health
As a young child I dreamed of traveling the world and making a difference. In Thailand I got very sick and developed debilitating diarrhea, intense pain, headaches and a severe rash over my entire body. As the days got worse, I slowly stopped doing anything other than laying in bed wishing it would all go away. Luckily, I was staying at an herb hostel and was given a tea to drink by one of the owners – I didn’t speak Thai, they didn’t speak english but I literally would have drank anything at that point. By the next day the diarrhea had eased up and my stomach was starting to calm down. As the days went on I started to feel more like myself and realized how powerful plants could be! Herbal medicine is powerful. I had a degree in Environmental Science but soon realized my true calling was in guiding others in their journey to health and that’s when I began to pursue Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
When we feed our mind, body and soul it shows externally through your thoughts, actions, and reactions. I will help you create balance on the inside of your body, which in turn radiates outward into your life.
